Info for quick reference!
Nutshell: Vandelin is an elven mage from Hasmal Circle who helped lead the rebellion there, fled once it fell, and joined up with a raiding band of apostates in the Hinterlands because he didn't trust the official contingent of rebel mages not to surrender. He very quickly came to regret this.
He specializes in entropy magic, particularly the kind that involves waking nightmares, with some frost spells for utility. He also bakes a mean cheesecake.
Appearance: Vandelin is tiny even for a Thedosian elf, 5'2" and very slimly built but for some painstakingly-acquired upper body muscle. He's very pale, with a lot of wavy black hair that curls when it's humid, but his eyes are what stand out above all else--round, long-lashed, bright olive-green, and alarmingly huge. Being an elf, of course, he also has the expected pointy ears.
Voice: High and reedy enough to drive him insane with the indignity of it, and thus frequently plagued by vocal fry as he tries in vain to lower it. His accent is the generic English one taught in all Marcher Circles, though acquired a bit later in life than usual after a childhood spent defiantly resisting the faculty's attempts to squash the alienage dialect out of him. He still resents this.
For reference, he generally sounds a bit like Passenger's singing voice in speaking form.
Clothing: When working for the Inquisition, he wears the typical uniform of a battlemage, with long sleeves underneath because he is a delicate desert flower. Otherwise, knee-length tunics over pants with high boots, everything very high-collared and shoulder-padded and covered-up. His favorite color is green and he wears a lot of it, and he's fond of decorative embroidery where he can get it.
Demeanor: Obnoxiously serene and unflappable at all times, unless he knows you very, very well. With those he likes, he'll maintain the calm nonchalant demeanor and nothing more; with those he dislikes, he'll do his best to creep them out in subtle ways by using his eerie lemur eyes to his advantage.
Sexuality: Bisexual, with a strong preference for men.

Canon Status: Flexible! For the purposes of memes and PSLs, Vandelin surrendered to the Inquisition after his fellow apostates in the Witchwood were killed, was taken prisoner, and eventually sweet-talked his way into being given a chance as a scout. I'm happy to play him at any point during this process! I can play him as a companion to your Inquisitor if you like, or have him just be Some Dude In Skyhold who carries out the war table missions you assign Leliana's forces to.
